The weather people are once again predicting snow for New Jersey, so it seems like a good time to dream about Isla Mujeres.
Why Isla Mujeres? Because of its WARMTH. Yes, the island is in the Mexican Caribbean, so the sun shines brightly most of the time. But the warmth I cherish even more is the warmth of the people of Isla. (Some might extend this to "the people of Mexico" but I've only been to Isla - any thoughts from others?) I found the Islenos to be very open, friendly, and ready to enjoy a laugh or a smile. If you ask them about themselves they love to share their stories... and to hear about yours. For me, this is SO different from life in the New York metropolitan area, and VERY refreshing!
Perhaps it is because I live in NJ, too, that I love slowing down to "island time." The heat, the gorgeous turquoise waters, the relaxed pace... they all seem to "insist" that I simply enjoy being in this paradise... a great way to truly vacation!
Has anyone else found this to be true, too? Either on Isla, or elsewhere?
