My first stay at Mary's Boon, which I have been wanting to try for a long time. Much smaller and easier to get around than Divi Little Bay, which is huge. The food was super and the view from the bar/restaurant of Simpson Beach and more was great. And I ran into Ann and Steve there one day and had a great conversation. The servicers, the maids, the groundskeeper were very pleasant to be around and the waitress had a warm smile for me every morning at breakfast. The jets were an added attraction for me. I arrived home at 1:00 am. American was late out of SXM and my American connection was also late out of Charlotte, so that worked out just fine. Other wonderful meals enjoyed were D's Beach Bar, Sunset Beach Bar and Dany's Cupecoy Beach, where he started my BBQ chicken as soon as he saw me in the parking lot !
Paradise is an island in the Caribbean!

We have stayed there many times over the past 35 years and it's our favorite spot on SXM. I think Mary's Boon was the first hotel on Simpson Bay and has a Vibe and great loyal staff that you just don't find many places. We just were there last month in one of their new remodel rooms and it was truly 5 star. Excellent food at fair prices , overall fun place that hopefully will alway have room for us.

I didn’t realize they were remodeling. What have they done to the rooms. Yours for example?

Tim--I saw a picture of one of the remodeled rooms, I can't remember where. I'm sure I am in the minority, but I hated it. I love the old timey "plantation" type decor of the rooms before and the one I saw was all modern.

So Mary's Boon has sold about 25% of their rooms as private fully deeded condos to be part of the hotel rentals. Each new owner can update the room as they like and a few did go with a more modern look but most of the rooms are still nice Caribbean style rooms. I did see pictures on their Facebook page of the updates room and the response was positive for what was done. I also prefer and a Caribbean style design but let's face it, lots the younger folks like that modern not much color sleek look. I think if you look on their website marysboon.com you can see picture of the rooms before you book your preference. All and all something for every taste. Lots of options there.
