Just a short note about some things after a fantastic two weeks on and around Tortola..The weather was fantastic..three or four days felt much more like early summer than spring..warm and spectacular..we had some decent north swells the rest of the time with good surfing from about 3 ft to 6 ft..As you regular readers here know..did get to sail with Kneafsey one day and had a wonderful time..despite his complaints about me drinking all his beer and bending his boat hook ( at least that part's true!) We snorkelled Santa Monica Rock which was big fun..lunched at Pirates and then (almost) sailed all the way back into his slip in the "Ghetto" of Nanny Cay..Great fun with a great guy ..Spent a little time with Walker and Nancy who showed up to check out the remodel..another great couple I've been lucky enough to meet thro TTOL..looking forward to spending more time with them this summer..Also sailed racing Tri " Triple Jack" owned by Steve fromThe Elm..what a fast boat..till we had to get towed (no motor) into the CGB when the wind died..next thing I knew we were back up to nine knots and about to ram the good samaritan towing us! We flew through the anchorage at nearly ten knots giving everyone on the beach quite a show. Spent another wonderful day on the water with Patouche..those guys really do have a superb daysail op and I recomend them to everyone..Meals..wonderful time with Davide and Cele at Brandywine as usual..couple of great meals at Palm's Deluight and Coco Plums..superb meal as always at Spaghetti Junction and they've finally got a sign out front so you cant miss em..John and April and such great folks..Banakeet was as god as ever and getting much busier which is good for hard working Chris the owner but means its a good idea to call for a reservation..as alwasy had many lunches at Stanley's in CGB and a couple at " Islands" at the Sugar Mill..a little pricey but still a lovely place with great staff..otherewise..the house is pretty much ready for the summer TTOL bashes and I even bought a new bar b q..I really wanted Walker to help me bolt the damn thing together so I could say..it really does take a rocket scientist to put one together!!
