This is great to see that there is a Africa board to discuss our upcoming trip on. I'm a regular lurker on the BVI board and very infrequent poster. My husband Dave and I are heading to South Africa, Botswana and Vic Falls ( Zambia side) in November for our 10th anniversary. I am anxious to hear about everyone's trips.

Carol we have similar itineraries.

We are arriving in Jo-burg and also staying at the Holiday Inn for one night. Then on to Mombo for 3 nights, Jao for 3 nights and Savuti for 2 nights ( Does anyone know is Savute the same as Savuti?) Then on to Royal Livingstone in Vic Falls for two nights. We are finishing up in Capetown for 4 nights at the Commodore.

I've been reading everything possible, but it is hard to find information.

It's great news about the bag limit for the Bots flights. Should make things easier.

Holly--We've never been to Africa before, so as of now, I can't really answer many questions, but hope to be able to, come the first of June! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Smile.gif" alt="" /> I absolutely agree that it is extremely difficult to find much good information about Africa. That's why we started up this section here on TTOL, as we were so frustrated with trying to find good information for our trip!!

I do believe that Savuti, which is where we are going, is NOT the same place as Savute, which I believe is just a region, maybe, not a camp?? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/thinks.gif" alt="" />

Regarding Capetown in particular, Selwyn has graciously offered to try to answer any questions regarding Capetown, so please post any Capetown questions that you have under a separate topic, so that Selwyn will be sure to see them!
