Daily Herald story Interesting. Possible Hard Rock Hotel.. Huhm, without a casino? I don't think so. So they will have to resurrect the additional casino license question. Huhm... A reef lagoon with a shark and stingray observation area. Sounds like they couldn't shove through a dolphin prison, but it's ok for sharks and stingrays?

Yup, it was supposed to be where Hollywood is, but I guess the litigation regarding Pelican is STILL not settled, after all these years, as an appeals court has overturned the lower court ruling. So I doubt Hard Rock would go forward there until that is finally resolved.

I guess it's supposed to be mainly for cruise ship passengers, but honestly, SXM has just about the most to do of any cruise ship port that we have been to in the Caribbean already.

Well, I saw something in the paper the other day which led me to believe that the project of the cruise ship pier in Simpson Bay will probably go forward also. There is a TON of political money behind that one...

I think it's just easier to get a casino license if you have a hotel with 200 rooms. There still has to be government approval to open a casino, one would think!
