Did a search but not much came up.

Decided we want to check out San Juan instead of just flying thru it. Arriving late Friday and thought we would spend all day Saturday there and fly to Beef island Sunday.

Where should we stay? (old town?) and what should we see or do for a day?

God will forgive you.... Mother Nature won't. Please DON'T LITTER

Old San Juan. We like El Convento.

We stayed three nights at the El Convento and loved it. The property has a lot of charm, a great roof top complimentary happy hour and excellent location if you want to explore the old city.

theres lots to do in old san juan, the shops and restaurants are wonderful, you must visit El Morro (the fort) very interesting and take note of the walled portions of old san juan. i believe you can get a walking guide to OSJ online either at frommers or fodors travel sites, i'm sure others have similar tours laid out, it's not a big area and is steeped in history, ie the pavers used in OSJ were once the ballast on a ship

You really have several options. You can stay in old San Juan and see the sights. We like The Gallery hotel.
Or, stay at the El San Juan and luxuriate for the day.
Or, rent a car and get out of the city and see the beautiful countryside. The rain forest is a great destination.

Would suggest if only 2 days OSJ and El Convento. Lots to do. Other option would be Condado... Probably a little less costly and still a great area... Easy to get to Old San Juan from there as well. All depends on what you are looking for.

Just stayed at the Stellaris for a few nights. Great location, great beach, you can walk to so many restaurants around that area.
