My wife and I have been to St. Maarten the past three years. The first two years we went in February and last year we went in April. We absolutely loved each time. Unfortunately, due to her work schedule we can't make it back in February anymore . We could possibly make it the first week of April this year, but the ticket prices are a bit high for us. So we were thinking of maybe the first couple of weeks in June, but we're not sure if that's a great time to go. We live in Georgia so there would be no real change in weather. Maybe a tad cooler there. If anyone has any input they could add, we would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks lina and piggy. No traffic sounds great! The water was a bit cool before, especially in February. After only three years we know what and where to go every minute. Sounds like we could get around better. Would make our trips to Orient Beach from Simpson Bay a lot easier.

We do like the change in weather, but are thinking strongly of June just to get back. Fortunately, we don't have to leave any snow behind whenever we go.

We used to go in February, but found the water a bit cool for our liking. We've gone in several different months, but have found that we enjoy June the most. Little traffic, lovely water temperature, less crowds, no need for dinner reservations in most places. Yes, it is nice to get away during the winter weather at home, but we just found so many positives in our June trips, that it has become our favorite time. We will be there again this June 6-20.

Terrific! Perhaps we'll get to meet on the island. We are just outside of K-town.

June is great, although flights are not always cheaper then, as some airlines scale back on days/plane capacity. I have actually paid about 20% more the past several June trips than I did in February.

We love SXM in June! Less traffic, the water is warm, prices are less, weather is nice, relatively small chance of a hurricane, AND our anniversary is in June! What's not to like??

We love going in June! No traffic! The flights are cheaper. I just got a direct flight from Atlanta for $645. Not too bad, I have paid more. We have been to SXM in April, June and October/November. Our favorite time is June!
We will be there from 5/30-6/13, can't wait!

Nothing like going in June. Been going in June for the past ten years. The weather, the traffic, no restaurant reservations needed, water temps are great and I made r/t airfare from JFK non stop for $422.00.

Thanks ya'll for the advice. I've been studying this hard and when I found a deal I couldn't resist, I went ahead and pulled the trigger. My wife and I will be back at Simpson Bay and for the first time for TWO weeks. June 7- June 21. Let the countdown begin!

You will love going for 2 weeks! Luckily, we are retired and can go for as long as the money holds out. We have been going for 2 weeks the last 3 trips to SXM! We will be there in June this year too--until 6/13. Can't wait to get there and let sand gravity take over.

We generally go mid-May for our anniversary, but have been in early June, as well. Great times of the year. We love travelling without worrying about weather - whether we'll get there or get home... travelled many times to Florida to visit my parents in February and many times our flights were cancelled or delayed due to snow. Me and the weather channel became very good friends during in those days...

We usually go the end of June which is not in the busy season so the weather and the crowds are just right. The cost to stay is less and the water is warmer than it is earlier. We have gone in February and found it a little chilly at night and had to put on a light jacket or sweater if near an ocean breeze.

Well, now it's not just the two of us. When we mentioned this to our oldest daughter who's 23 well........... we couldn't resist telling her to come tag along. So she and her best friend booked flights last night for five days during the middle of our two weeks. We can't wait to show them the island. It will be great! She already has a counter on her phone. She just needs to leave her mom and dad alone @ OB.
