Is it a flower, or a creature? I know it's something beautiful but what? Or do I even want to know? I'm hoping it's an island caterpillar which from the perspective of the camera is enlarged to look like a snake?

Respectfully,

Wow, looked like some exotic stalk. Must get new glasses.

You twisted my arm Beerman. This is for you, Aloha

I remember that one sign ended up down at Club O. I wondered whether someone took it back down to them, or if it ended up a souvenier on someone's wall?

Maybe it's hanging on Aloha's wall? Beerman might be able to tell us.

We bring 2 sets of Petanque balls to SXM with us each trip. (And our luggage gets tossed by TSA every time ) My husband loves to play on the beach and grounds around ClubO.

It is a GREAT beach game. On the last SXM trip we did, my French friend who introduced me to Petanque joined us on Baie Rouge. I brought my Boules balls and cleared customs on the way down, but the balls were taken away at the airport in SXM on the way back. You would think that customs on the island would know what Petanque is, but we had fun playing at Baie Rouge. The owner of Petanque USA is a friend of mine, and I ordered another set from him.

Whenever we go to the beach in the US, I always take my Petanque set with us, and all of our family now know this game now.

We actually built a ptanque court at home - to the exact specifications Since I lost my husband, it hasn't been used (sadly), so you're invited to come play

Wow what an interesting twist to this interesting thread. My French friend is a doctor in Augusta, GA, and he also built an official court in his yard. That was where I was introduced to the game.

The picture has to already be online. You use the Image tool under the Instant TTOL Code. That is how you link the picture to TTOL.

Biglar

There is a court at the new Bikini Beach. I don't know whether it is being used during the day, but there were quite a few players on Friday nights during this past February, when we were there.

We have 2 sets that have cases. We put one set in each suitcase. It's the one of the main reasons we have to check our luggage. We have to be very careful with weight too. And we get a nice note from TSA each time that they've searched our luggage. (Hey Frank, ya ever seen anything like this? These guys packed CANNONBALLS in their suitcase! )

My husband prefers "free form" petanque. He doesn't play on a court, but uses the whole beach and grounds around ClubO. It's not traditional, but he has a lot of fun.

Playing around with Photoshop. This was before the new causeway opened.
