Hi Does anyone know if there is a cell phone store in Menaggio or Varenna to buy a sim card for our phone while on vacation. Or has anyone purchased a sim card on ebay or anywhere else before their international travel and used it in their phone so they can make cheaper calls and use data while on vacation?

We're leaving next week for Italy. I bought a SIM card from cellularabroad.com. Obviously haven't used it yet but it sounds like it will give us local and US calls and texts, plus data; just what we need. Also paid for a US number so folks here can call us without making an international call.
Do some research to be sure your phone will work. I had to buy a used smartphone since our Verizon phones are "unlocked" for calls and texts but not for data.

There'll be one in Como, not sure about Menaggio. Best bet will be at the airport assuming you are landing in Italy.
