Thinking of renting chairs and umbrella at Club O. Do they have restrooms and what kind of food does the Perch offer? 3 more days.

There are restrooms behind the Perch and also at Papagayo. The Perch offers burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwich, some kind of fish, I think, although it's been a while since I've eaten there.

The food at the Perch is pretty good, but we prefer to eat at Papagayo's as it has a more extensive menu and table service. The outside deck is now repaired after Hurricane Gonzalo destroyed it. The bathrooms in both places are kept clean.

The Perch also does a good job with pizza.

If you rent the chairs and umbrella for the week, you also get free parking there at Club O, with someone watching your car. I think that you get 7 coupons that must be used within 9 or 10 day. Plus happy hour starts at 3:00 PM at the Perch.

Do you get free parking if you just rent chairs by the day or do you have to do the week rental to get free parking?

Umbrella/chair rental at CO beach is through the beach boys there - you pick an untagged chair and they'll come around to collect. Not sure if they have a multi-day plan for day visitors - the couple sitting next to us said they couldn't get one. If you're staying at Club O, that includes a reserved chair/umbrella as part of your room rate - you tag the chair(s) you want when you arrive and it's reserved for you entire visit. Parking fee for day visitors can be arranged with Club O . . . and to make sure you don't miss the fun, Perch happy hour is 2:30 to 3:30.

You were at Club O recently? I'm surprised if they are not giving out multi-day tickets right now, as it is off season. They often don't do it during the height of high season. And usually this time of year they haven't been charging for parking by the store at all. Although with the construction on Orient right now, that might have changed.

Parking for day visitors is usually $5 for the day in the Club O lot. That's what we paid when we were there in January during high season. However, when we parked there multiple days during our 2-week trip last month, there was no one at the entrance taking money and we parked for free each day. Not sure if that 2-week period was a fluke or whether they just don't charge for parking during low season.

As I just said--possibly typing while you were--they don't normally charge for parking during low season.

We stayed at CO 2 weeks in mid-June. I asked couple next to us, who were at Mont Vernon, if they got a multi-day tag for their chairs - he said the beach boy didn't offer that. Perhaps doable through CO office. I know nothing about parking, just walked to beach free each day !

Weekly passes have to be purchased at the Club O office.

The "deal" has changed over the years but for the last several you could get 7 days of chair rental plus parking for a price that was somewhat of a discount over daily chair rentals. I have been told that you can sign up in the office but everyone I know goes to the water sports shack. All of my recent tapes have been high season.

Not so. This June (and for at least the last four years), weekly passes are sold by Water Sports--7 tickets to be used in a period of nine days for 2 chairs and 1 umbrella for $120 (discounted from the daily price of $20, which would otherwise be $140 for 7 days). The Club O office will refer you to Water Sports. Parking is free in the low season.

When we were there in November/December, they rented us chairs and umbrellas by the week and the parking came with it.

And yes we did this at the water sports office at the end of the beach.

Only those who are staying at Club O get tags which are good for the entire duration of their stay...and thus get them the same chairs in the same location for their entire trip. When non-guests buy the "7-days across any 9-days" package at the water sports hut you get a book of seven paper tickets. Every morning you have to go find two chairs with no plastic "wrist bands" on them and put your towels on them. Mid-morning the Beach Boy will come by, take one of the paper tickets from your book, and put "one day" wrist bands on your chairs. Every afternoon around 3pm they come around and clip off the one-day bands so that on the next morning the day visitors can see which chairs are available for use that day. Only those staying at Club O get to reserve specific chairs for the entire period of their stay.
