So Beerman is going to post a trip report for our trip, but the Maytrix clan arrived a couple days before, so here's a quick report on Conner's first day plus..

Our flight was around 1:15pm out of Logan Aiport. We live about 20+ miles outside of Boston so we took Logan Express - a bus that is near us that has cheap parking ($7/day vs $30/day at Logan!). We had quite a few bags!

4 rolling bags, but only 3 hands free since one was needed to push the stroller! I came up with a decent solution - two bags towed as one!

Conner was all set for his first plane ride! He was even awake for some of it!

We got into San Juan around 5:30pm and had a 7:30pm flight on Cape Air. We got there early and asked about taking an earlier flight, but there wasn't enough room. It worked out great though as they told us we were the only 3 on the plane and we'd leave as soon as our pilot was there. So we ended up leaving 30 minutes early and had a great flight.

Got to the moorings base, set up Conner's Pack N Play (which just fit in our cabin), un packed a little and called it a night!

Next morning, we finished any unpacking we still had left, stowed all our bags and I checked over the boat for any issues or missing items. We had a few so we made sure to get those, grabbed some extra provisions and did the boat briefing (which took all of 10-15 minutes)..

Then we were off to Norman Island. We grabbed a ball and headed in for lunch which was great!

After lunch, we had a nice swim! He may not be smiling, but Conner had a great time in the water at home! He loves the water, but loves the warm BVI water even better!

After our swim, Conner had a snack!

And we just relaxed at the mooring with the time that was left the rest of the day. Next morning, we did more of the same before heading to Soper's Hole where we were picking up the rest of the group!

Conner loved his first day plus!

To be continued....

Love this with all the pics!! I can't imagine doing this with a tiny kid, but I'm getting the picture! Better to do it than not do it, if you have no options for an adult-only trip, I'm sure! Good for you!

great photo's Matt, that's a LOT of luggage! What you see is what we got, Conner has a very good disposition! Never saw him fussy, maybe heard him barely cry twice when it was time to eat, but then again I got hangry a couple times right before dinner too <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

It was a LOT of luggage - in comparison though, only 1 more bag than normal - we just swap two of the bags for our dive gear.

Great trip though - can't wait for the next!

Looks about right to me but we don't travel light. My husband also makes luggage "trains" and there was a time frame when my son used to sit on top.

It warms my heart to read these types of trip reports. We were blessed to have a baby (now a nearly 10yo) that travelled like a champ from the beginning and we never slowed down.

My friends thought I was crazy for taking a 4 hour flight with a baby, I thought they were crazy taking a baby on a four hour round trip excursion to outlet malls.

We are very lucky that he is so well behaved and easy going. We've been taking him with us pretty much everywhere since he was 4 weeks old. At 2 weeks, we did his first long car ride up to Vermont (3 hours) and continued that through the rest of the winter weekly.. This was his first time flying and we had hoped it would go well and he was perfect.

Now we just need to figure out how to include our dive gear for future trips. Once we can eliminate the pack n play, I think it will be easier - that pretty much took up a whole bag!

I think that is the key. Start them early. We've taken our son all manner of places and he is a wily veteran of a 20+ hour flight from Siberia to KC when he was less than 2 years. After that, pretty much everything else has been a comparative cakewalk.
