Don't just grab the URL. Instead, right mouse click your picture, the click Properties, and copy the full URL with the ".jpg" file name at the end. Paste all that when the Image dialog box opens, then preview your post and you should see your picture.

P.S. I go to image and attach the url but it doesn't show the pic when you are viewing it in the forum. Only the url. Is there a certain photo website hot guys are using. I.e. flicker or what?

Eric can answer this much better than me but I am pretty sure the picture has to be on the internet (photobucket for example) and then you link from there. Hopefully someone more tech savvy than me will chime in.

I use photobucket, and was having trouble postings pics. Go to FAQ in the above menu, and read BEERMAN's instructions for posting from photobucket. I was able to do it, and I'm not very computer savvy! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/smashpc.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

<img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Yikes.gif" alt="" />I tried photobucket but I only want a single pic to post but the link provides access to my photobucket library. What's up wit dat? I have followed the PB support instructions but that didn't help. Thoughts? <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Yikes.gif" alt="" />

When you go to PhotoBucket and select a single photo, it should display like this:

[Linked Image]

On the right hand side, under SHARE LINKS, click in the box labeled IMG, it starts with [URL=http://smg ...

It should flash 'Copied'.

Creat a new post here, enter your text, then paste what you copied into your post. CTRL-V works on a PC.

Your single photo should be there when you preview it.

This is also from BEERMAN's instructions -

"-FYI, I make all of my albums "Private" and I only post specific photo's to share online. To show only one photo I remove all of the code before and after the [IMG] brackets. If I wanted to share the whole album I would leave the entire code and a viewer could click on the photo to access the entire album. "

Try it in the test forum, sometimes if we see the code you are using we can help more. And some website just do not allow for photos to be pulled to another location.

[color:"black"]Thanks Whammy, I forget that those instructions are in the FAQ section <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Cheers.gif" alt="" />

FYI gtaylor, It may or may not matter to you, but your account is not set up as private, posting a photo as you have done gives access to all of your "public" photo's. You can keep your files "public" but if you wish to just show the one specific photo follow what's highlighted when pasting the code. Keep the photo's flowing!!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/toast.gif" alt="" />[/color]

If it weren't for your easy to follow instructions for re-sizing and posting a pic, I would have given up! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

Easy alternative if you store images elsewhere is tiny pic - http://tinypic.com/

No account needed and after you upload they give you the image address to paste into the image tags here.

Close but you had some other code after the jpg extenstion.

From you picture this is the code that you should have copied:

http://i736.photobucket.com/albums/xx1/t...zps9uoflquv.jpg

You posted the html part -- need to cut that out and just use the stuff in the [ img] url stuff [/ img] from the photobucket screen.

This is the photo:

The twin peaks on St Lucia are definitely worthy of a picture. Mine was taken 21 years ago.

Beerman,

Yep, all of my SXM photos are public.

There are other albums/photos there that are indeed private.

My 'personal' photos are posted elsewhere, but I encourage visitors to see as many/much of my SXM experience as they wish.

Thanks, and it's good info for anyone that doesn't understand PhotoBucket.

Are you putting just the picture's file name in the TTOL Image dialog box? You need the full URL and the picture's file name.

--------------------------------------------

Find the picture on the internet and open it.

When you have the picture displayed, right mouse click on it.

When the options box opens, click on "Properties".

When Properties box opens, you should see a label that says something like "Address (URL)".

Copy the full URL, with the picture's file name at the end of the URL, should be something like this...

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-DCdsjtgu6LA/SzTXwO9r69I/AAAAAAAAdls/DG3Y7V_jQR0/w639-h457-no/Mullet_Bay_2009%2B%252812%2529.JPG

This is what you need to paste into the TTOL Image dialog box. I do it this way all the time.

Thanks to all for the help, especially Eric Hill who took the time to actually test my code then showed me what I was doing wrong (thank you too, beerman). Additionally, I was missing the need to click {image} on the right hand dialog box before I pasted and cleaned up the code.

This shot was taken on Orient Beach in May 2014
