Whoa--If you want to be on ST. Barts around New Years, and you're talking this year, I hope you already have someplace to stay booked? For flying you can fly out of Esperance, generally cheaper, because you don't have to pay tax. More convenient from Club O, for sure. Can't remember what airline, but can't be more than one or two. I would do it from Esperance, although there probably are fewer flights and the time schedule from Juliana might serve your purpose better. As far as the ferry, can be very rough going over, you know. I believe there is a ferry also that leaves from the french side, the nice new one..

Flying is probably the best way, but not the cheapest way and I think doing ferry is a good way to see the islands up close.very pretty. People have commented on the rough seas they experiencd ..but when we went over we had some wind but the seas were not that bad. We did take nondrowsy Dramamine . There are several to choose from with $70 being the cheapest round-trip. We chose the voyager because it gave more time on the island departed from Marigot at 850 and arrived an hour later and left Saint Barts at 515pm. The edge is another feery that leaves out of Simpson Bay. I think the third is great Bay express? Just Google all those names and she's the one you want if that's the way you want to go . Hope this helps.

We will be in SXM for Christmas we arrive that day, we will be in St Barts for New Year’s Eve . As everyone has said I hope you have your hotel/villa reservations. We made ours back in January for both SXM and St Barts. As for transportation we use the ferry from Phillipsburg, it’s a short ride and the captain and crew are a great group of folks. New Year’s Eve is a great time in St Barts, there is a lot of activities around the harbor and a huge fireworks display at midnight , the party then continues at Le Select till the morning.
