Sad news today. Gumption's boat took on water today, so he will be laid up for repairs for quite some time. His reef and nature (Necker Island) tours have been suspended until further notice. He'll need some help from the TTOL community when he's back on his feet, so stay tuned to help promote his tours towards the end of the year. Thanks, all.

Ohhhh noooo. This is sad news.
Great guy and sounds like he's had some bad luck. We will be there in January and hopefully he will be back on the water.

You'd think maybe Sir Richard would give Gumption a bit of a "lift".

Gumption may be too busy attending to repairs to be able to take advantage of a lift if it were offered.

Don't think so <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" /> By "lift" I mean a monetary assist. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Yikes.gif" alt="" />

Gumption seems to be such a great ambassador for the BVIs in so many ways, from providing a hugely popular service to working to save the sea turtles, clean up litter, etc. I do hope that everybody (not just Branson) will get together to help him "stay afloat" in these challenging times.

Sir Richard could easily take care of this without any help.

Gumption has started a Go Fund Me page to help with repairs. Gumption's Go Fund Me Page
The next time you get mad, ask yourself the following question. Will it will matter a year from now? If it won't, breathe in, breathe out and move on. Life is short, remember to have fun along the way.

The boat's on the hard in the Nanny Cay yard. Saw it today, looking very tiny among all the huge cats.

Anyone know the current status of Gumption and his boat?
We are traveling late January and I'm wondering about tours.
Thanks!

I did check the web page and there are no comments on the Necker Tours about his boat.
However, the glass bottom boat tours are suspended due to boat repairs.
I was just looking for insider info.

I had numerous conversations with gumption over the past month. Have you tried his Facebook page? I expect that he will be back in the water any day now. Necker tours are subject to the dates that they provide to him. I hope that this helps.

I note that December dates for necker have been posted.
I expect that January dates will be posted around the end of this month.

Necker island advised me that gumption is still short around $1,000. He needs to raise that before the Marina will launch his boat. So I hear that his go fund me is still accepting help.

She's excited Kim. We have a group of 8 with us this time on a 50' Voyage cat. Our crew are mostly Donna's old friends from DC. She's super excited to show them her "other life". I'm hoping for fair winds and reasonable swells. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />
I hope you guys have a terrific season on Reef Song. Much love and respect to the entire Reef Song family.
