We have always avoided Tortola and the more populated/built out beaches on our trips. Lots of boats, lots of people ashore, using a small volume of water for wastewater is never a good idea in my book. Does anyone know if the BVI even has the ability or interest to test their own waters? If they do? When and where do they test?

This was a warning before a large expected rain storm that did not arrive. No problem. Lots of run off in the populated areas means lots of septic overflows. Count the houses on the hill, the more houses the more bacteria. USVI DPNR does actual measurements after the fact, so they have a model for forecast.

Cheers, RickG
