One of the reasons why we created this forum is that the older posts are gone. Anyone want to start us off with their favorite painkiller recipe?? ...or other favorite liquid libation??

This is EXACTLY how I lifted it off JonJoslin's post he made some time ago - as to give him credit for my hangover when it occured. Ok, I'm cheating a bit.. This rum punch is from Jost Van Dyke, not SXM.. But we will carry a gallon or so around with us anywhere!!
Frankly, it's the Best Painkiller I have had, except for Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost.
Recipe: 1 1 gal bottled water (Don't worry, We have plans for this) 1 46oz. can pineapple juice 1 46oz. can orange juice 1 12oz. can coco lopez 1 750ml bottle of dark rum
Take the bottle of water and pour out the water. Fill bottle with all of the above juices & rum. It will fill exactly to the top of the bottle. Shake well before pouring. Pour over a glass filled with ice. (Plastic cup is mandatory) Sprinkle FRESH ground nutmeg over top.
JonJoslin
peace.

I did the math and I get an extra 1 1/3 oz more than a gallon, just enough for a healthy shot of rum for the person doing the mixing, lol

JonJoslin I have to tell you that recipe looks just like mine: haha!!! It does rock, and has been refined and time tested on every trip we have ever made: Recipe: 1 1 gal bottled water (Don't worry, We have plans for this) 1 46oz. can pineapple juice 1 46oz. can orange juice 1 12oz. can coco lopez 1 750ml bottle of dark rum Take the bottle of water and pour out the water. Note that I am not a sweet drink kind of person, and I have many friends that seem to be and this is a drink that both seem to like and will with out a doubt kill the pain. It makes a great party drink.
2 parts Orange/Tangerine Juice 1 part Pineapple Juice 1 part Rum - prefer Cruzan 120 but you can use 80 or 151 and it still taste good. Squeeze a good slice of lime in. Mix this all over ice, Then add 1 part tonic water and give a light mix. Garnish with a lime slice if you wish.
For parties I premix the Orange/Tangerine (store bought, OJ works ok but the Tangerine really adds to it) and Pineapple Juice ahead of time. Gallons of it, last Saturday we went through several bottles of rum with this.
I have only found one person (does not like OJ) that has not loved this, the tonic lightens it up and makes it refreshing. You can also add a bit of tonic to Margarita's if you used a mix to take away the chemical kind of flavor that a mix usually has.
We call the drink above a Jumbie, and that name comes from a very similar drink recipe that I found in a cocktail book from a trip to the USVI in the 90's, not to be confused with of course Rum Jumbie.
You will be very surprised with this drink, it will become a party staple.
Cheers, Todd
I prefer the Isle seat
