We always make a stop at Piazza Pascal. Food is good. Service is good. Sitting upstairs is somewhat unique although I always feel sorry for the wait staff having to climb the stairs all night.

Next SXM visit -November 2023. Also January 2024.

Ambiance, food and service..... Ocean 82 all the way. Love dining on the ocean side.
Food and service.... Piazza Pascal and Le Cottage both excellent without the view. The staff is friendlier at these two restaurants as well.

Our favorite is a tie between Piazza Pascal..and LaVilla. Food, Service and Ambiance all very high. No ocean view at either...the food speaks for itself.

It USED to be L'Estimenet but the last meal there wasn't up to their usual. I'd understand that had it been the chef that left but it was Carol, the warm, lovely server that left. Maybe Carol had influence in the cooking. Our steak had too much goat cheese and seasoning.

Carole was more than a server, she was the heart and soul of L'Estaminet. We have not been back since she left, and the restaurant closed this past summer. We enjoy visiting Carole at her grocery store in Oyster Pond, L'Epicerie Gourmande.

L'Effet Mer, excellent food, nice service, great view.

I would also add a criteria that I reckon you have omitted: - Price.

It is easy to find a great place in GC provided that you pay $70+ per person.

At Effet Mer you can dine for reasonable cost, there is now a trend on the Island to drop prices in Restaurants because tourists are becoming more cost aware.

Do you mean closed for good or just for the summer?

Piazza Pascal, without question. The ambiance upstairs is great, the service is impeccable and the food is always amazing.

We hadn't been to Le Tastevin in years, but we had a wonderful meal there last month. We will definitely return.

Tastevin was purchased by the restaurant owner's group that includes Thibault and Amaury from Bistrot Cariabes, around the end of last year, and they have installed a new chef, so those who haven't tried them for a while might be pleasantly surprised, as you were.

Our opinion: Piazza Pascal, Spiga and Ocean 82.

Just a heads up if anyone frequents IL Netuno. As some of you know, Ramone(Raymond) sold the restaurant a few years ago and the menu changed drastically. This resulted in decreased revenue since many people chose to dine elsewhere. Then Ramone (Raymond) returned to manage the restaurant, changed the menu back to the popular items and business improved. So, now the saga continues....Ramone has decided to depart after a falling out with the owner. The menu has reverted back to the new owners preferences, which are not mine! Piazza Pascal, Oceans 82, Villa Royale, Captain Frenchy's and many others will now be my favorite in GC.

I agree price should have been added. The reason I didn't is because this is a recommendation for my mother's friend who has a ridiculous amount of money. The post was necessary because we have stopped dining in Grand Case because of how pricey the restaurants have become. We first traveled to SXM 15 years ago before the Euro. In the old days we would have an amazing dinner at the high end restaurants for $35-50. The last time we ate at Tastevin 5 year ago our bill for 4 was over $300. Today we enjoy sunset at Calmos and then dinner at the Lola's

This restaurant took over the location vacated by Le Shore a few years ago. It is a lovely spot hidden from view in Grand Case and right on the water. Glad you enjoyed your evening there.

We have tried many of your suggestions over the years. We still love L'Auberge Gourmand. We're thinking of trying L'Pressoir. Are they comparable? What's the real difference between the two? Which is your favorite and why?

After more than 20 trips to SXM we finally tried Le Pressoir...It was outstanding !!! Food, decor and ambiance, service, all were fabulous. I would put them in the line of Le Cottage and the late Estaminet for the creativity and the quality of the products they use.The service is attentive and very classy. It's not cheap but it's worth every penny. Definitely a place we'll return !

It is a very nice restaurant and at one time was promoted as the most romantic restaurant in St. Martin! We haven't dined there lately but the reviews are still very good.

Actually, never been there ourselves, but it is in Cul de Sac, not Grand Case.
