Walkable, I would go to French Town. Hook Line & Sinker, Bella Blue, Pie Whole Pizza, Rum Shandy, Betsy's, Twisted Cork... am I missing anything? Pie Whole and Rum Shandy both have draught beer from Frenchtown Brewing.
Betsy's has the most diverse cross section of local patrons and serves late nights. We enjoy Hook Line & Sinker at Frenchtown Marina/CYOA charter base. We like the food at both. None of these restaurants suck.

Agreed, I would get a cab back after dark. Even if it's close, walking downtown CA after dark doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling.

FeelinNauti said: Thanks guys. Is there a Louis Vuitton store over there at narina too? Just forward thinking! There are no retail shopping stores to speak of in Frenchtown - the Yacht Haven marina on the other side of the harbor does have quite a few stores - not sure how late they might stay open - it is a good 30 min +or- walk from Windward. The wide variety of restaurants in Frenchtown offer a great choice of dining options <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/dine.gif" alt="" /> - Yacht Haven not so much.

The Louis Vuitton store is at Yacht Haven Grande. There are a few restaurants there: Grand Cru, Fresh, and Fat Turtle. It's a little more than a mile from Windward Passage along the water front. You could walk if it is still light, but take a cab back.
Frenchtown does have a bigger food selection, but it is fun to look at the megayachts at Yacht Haven Grande. If you want to go a little further than Yacht Haven, the new Tap and Still is drawing quite a crowd at Havensight.
