Any news on Captain Compass boats? Very few pictures of Sea Cow Bay. On some shots there seems to be a few mast standing up where Brent keeps his boats: between an island and the docks. Hopefully his local knowledge payed off.

Ahoy All TTOL!
Brent Here!
Alive and healing up.
I will have a minority of the yachts in service for Thanksgiving and a majority of the yachts in service for Christmas.
Secret Oasis, the Voyage 580 in Nanny Cay boat yard lost it's main sail, replacement on the way, otherwise very good.
The 6 yachts I secured to the small mangrove island in Sea Cow Bay all moved less than 1'.
With varying degrees of work I expect them all to be ready by Christmas, if not sooner.
I am flying in my own surveyor and other tradesmen to facilitate the quality and speed of the repairs.
Thanks to all those sharing Positive ... Anything!

Ahoy All,

I am lucky that thanks to hard work in August I have yachts that I can put back into service by Christmas if I can get the parts, and lucky that I have the support of my yacht Owners and my Guests.
Since starting on Nov 1 we cleared the decks on the 6 yachts in the trees and brought the first of those boats to the dock, and painted the bottom on the 58’ and launched it.
On Nov 10 I received written authorization from the Insurance Company to act as General Contractor for the repairs and I received the reparation quotes for each yacht from the Riggers.
Restaurants and businesses are re-opening up every day. Utilities and food supplies are improving every week. Riteways Grocery store is fully stocked with fresh Dairy and Triple A USDA Beef.
The nautical side is clear and gentle and sublime as 50 years ago, there are less boats, and all the old fashioned beach bars are new and clean and green .
I have power, water, wifi, clean laundry, and a Big Cup Of Tea.
I am healthy and energized and looking forward to the next Great Challenge of my Life!

Fair Winds,
Brent

Capt  Brent, as one of your boat owners I can't thank you enough for all your efforts protecting our boats from Irma and now repairing the damage.  We have so much comfort knowing we will be down the beginning of December able to sail the BVI again.  I'll give a detailed report of our cruise at that time. For now, Brent (Captain's Compass)  is one of the great charter companys  rebounding and getting his fleet up and running. Island Fun lives and sails thanks to Brent

I am always amazed at the lack of respect and courteous behavior that some display on this forum. Everyone has opinions but maybe keep them to yourself. I prefer to read the positivity given the tragic circumstances in the islands. If someone is doing well then I am excited for the islands and the boat owners!

Great news Captain Brent!

So excited to charter with Brent for the first time in April, 2018 on Mei Nu, a 44 Jeanneau.

The boat we share with others is stuck in VGYH and as you all know there is lots of damage there and things are moving slow. Slower than island time and that's sayin' something. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

We couldn't miss our BVI time so another boat was in order.

For week 2 of our vacation we will be in search of a small place on VG or Anegada so I'll start that search after the first of the year. Hopefully more places will be in better shape.

Congrats Brent on how well your boats survived! A job well done and I can't wait to meet you!

Annoddddd, may I suggest Anegada Beach Cottages? They are on the west side of the island. Very quiet and the water is much calmer there. Not much for snorkeling. But for swimming it is excellent. McKenzie is awesome to work with and his pricing is very fair. We are going mid December. This will be our 2nd year in a row there. We absolutely love it. www.anegadabeachcottages.com/ The best number to reach him is 284-544-0739

Thanks for the recommendation! In all the times we've been to BVI, we've never gone to Anegada so we are pretty excited.

Another great place on Anegada is the D & H Sunshine Villas owned and ran by Dean & Hennie Wheatley. We spent a week there two years ago and had most of the west end all to ourselves. Can't wait to stay there again.

Anegada seems to be a mini Jost Van Dyke. Cow Wreck and Big Bamboo are a lot of fun during the day. But before sunset the island is pretty quiet and very dark with no moon. The dock area seems a little busier at night with boats that choose to stay over. This has become our favorite island. Not much to do. But is that a bad thing? The islanders are very accommodating. Several times we've scheduled dinner (call before 4pm) and we were the only ones there. You will love Anegada.
