Could someone video/film a flight arrival for me on 2/25????
My husband is a pilot and his flight will be arriving in to Saint Martin on 2/25. I would love to surprise him with a video of his aircraft landing over the "famous" Maho Beach. I will be flying with him so unfortunately I'm not able to take the video.
Is there anyone who would be in the area at the end of Feb and might be able to help me surprise my husband?
I met my husband on a cruise 19 yrs ago and have been sailing happily ever after since then! Since we met on a cruise we honeymooned on a cruise and St Martin was a port of call. He said to me that day, "wouldn't it be cool if someone filmed me flying in over this beach one day?" Well I haven't forgotten that comment! Just need a volunteer to assist me!
Pretty please with sugar on top?!

While I do not have the means to help you as I am flying in that day also, I am curious as to the airline. I arrive that day on Delta.
Hopefully someone can help you out.

He is now semi retired at 55. He flew the 737 and 757 with ATA until they went out of operation. Then was the 737 Check Airman for Vision Airlines. Now he is a Cpt on the CRJ-200 for a private airline 5 miles from our house! Works typically 2 days/wk except for trips like this with 5 day layovers. Who can complain about that?! No more crash pad after nearly 30 yrs, no commuting, etc. You know how all that works! The airline is Western Airways in Sugar Land, TX.

Interesting.
Hope you find somebody to film.
I am in no way a pilot and hope you didn't think that. Just a passenger and long time visitor to the island.

What time is he flying in on the 25th? We are at Maho and leaving that day; depending on his arrival we could try and film his landing. Will need time of arrival and his call sign/tail number. Hubby is a private pilot and will monitor his arrival, if we are still around when he arrives.

There are several airplane/photographers on this forum. I am sure someone will volunteer to do this for you when they read your post. I know if we were there at that time, my husband who was also a pilot, would be happy to do it for you. It is such a caring and thoughtful surprise for your husband. Enjoy your St. MAARTEN Trip!

As of now they are scheduled to arrive at 2:20 p.m. on Thur, 2/25. Closer to the date I'll be back on these boards to confirm the arrival time, provide a flight #, tail #, etc..... Sounds like you already know how to track flights online.

At best might be able to get a photo of him on the runway!

We actually live in Missouri City, but both of us work in Sugar Land. I'm in the SL Town Square. Bumping this to the top.... If anyone will be at Maho on Thur I'd be very appreciative on a video and/or camera shots of my husband's flt arriving. ETA is 2:20 p.m. The flt can be tracked at flightaware.com. At the top enter the tail number N42WA. This will keep you updated on their progress throughout the day. Much appreciated in advance to fill a bucket list item for an aging pilot!

Unfortunately, we'll be at the airport. I've made a note of the tail number and will look out for hubby landing. Will try and get a photo and/or film, but can't promise anything.

You might want to send them a private message, so they don't have to put their email on the forum.

Just click on the person's user name and a screen will pop up. To the bottom left of that screen, there is a button that says "send a private message"

I am much delayed in reporting back to everyone to say thank you if you helped in any way shape or form to check this experience off my husbands bucket list! What a whirlwind 5 days that unfortunately ended with our entire flight crew getting the noro virus! The flight had to be delayed an extra day (6 days total) b/c some of the crew members were too ill to even fly home.
If you sent me a photo or video....THANK YOU!
If you suggested an idea of who may be able to help...THANK YOU!
If you gave me a ride from the airport to my resort....THANK YOU!
You all are the best and surely a trip we will never forget!
The pictures were amazing and can be found on facebook
