I know as of a week ago it still appeared to be bad on Orient, what is it currently like? Any reports of the seaweed situation on Anguilla?

Thanks.

On Orient Beach every day is different. On Friday 2 tractors with rakes went in front of Mount Vernon. Then went up to Palm Beach raked there then went around the big rock not sure where else they went but an hour later I saw one around Pedro's. Spot with the most seaweed is in between Mount Vernon and Palm Beach ( Old Boo Boo Jams) but that always has seaweed there. The work crew that is cleaning the beach for the local government gets about 50 yards a day. they should be by the big rock by Friday (maybe) Have not noticed any smell from the piles they leave at the back of the beach. But I digress the beach is fine with a few spots of seaweed here and there.

I though the French government was buying a special machine to pick up the seaweed. Did you notice that being used?

I think it was the owner of the "5 stars" that purchased that machine. It came in right before we left in December, and wasn't working properly at that time. I read later that some adjustments were made and it was working better, but haven't heard much about it since.

Haven't seen the new machine yet but it was bought by the 5 star guy. The government hired some men to do the job too.

Since I asked, I will update.

Orient was nice and from Pedro's to Coco was pretty much seaweed free. Towards Pedro's the beach narrowed, no idea past Pedro's. Towards Palm Beach the seaweed increased as did the surf. In the Bikini Beach area the beach was pretty clean as was the water. The "new" Bikini was doing a brisk business and had 4 rows of chairs. They are perhaps working with the cruise ships from what I could tell.
