Someone said that they recently saw a Rima store on island, like on Back Street. Does anyone know if they sell retail at all? I would like to buy some more of their stuff, but I don't like the things they sell on the website. Or does anyone know whether the gals in that square down from the courthouse sell other Rima stuff? Or something similar? I'm looking for sun dresses made out of polyester with a regular neckline (not the spaghetti strap ones). I just don't do shopping anymore, so it's been a really long time since I've been downtown, other than going to the Rima big store, before it closed.

There are several stores that sell Rima products. I have seen them for sale in stores on Front Street. Also, I know Jewels and Linens in Maho has their products as well. They are also selling online at www.rimasxm.com

Carol We went shopping on back street lat time and didn't see any Rimas store. But we did see Rimas lables on close sold at the vendors location in the center of P'burg. Also seen Rimas lables on clothes the beach vendors were selling too. So Rimas has a presence somewhere .

OK, thanks. I will check out Maho first to see if they have what I want. As I said, the stuff online is NOT what I'm looking for.

OK, thanks. Maybe they were mistaken. I did buy one thing from a lady at Mullet, but it wasn't really what I wanted.

Just to warn you, its not a lot, maybe a 4 foot section in product on the wall to the right after you walk in.

OK, at least it is much closer than going into P'burg. We usually end up going to Maho Market a couple of times for a bottle of wine, etc., so it's not a special trip.

There is a store in Philipsburg that sells pretty much everything Rimas used to sell. Dresses, coverups, shirts, souvenirs. I think they took a lot of their inventory. It's located on Old Street on the left towards the back. Not sure of the name. Kenny's seems to ring a bell.

Carol. It's on the beach in between the Flamingo studio building and the Simpson Bay resort. Not the SBR new villa building but the one next to Flamingo that share the same beach where the walk through is across from Bon Appetite. Hope that helps clarify it for you.

I've been really disappointed in the beachwear for sale by the beach ladies the last several years - flimsy stuff, that won't last me a season. Fortunately, I still have some of my old dresses, but they're looking pretty tired. Good luck!

Yes, I bought something on Mullet this last time, but it was not anything I was very excited with.

I am not sure if they sell retail, but they are located across the road from Chippie cafe in Philipsburg.

So what color are you wanting? Something to go with your eyes? My wife has some things she didn't sell that she bought in the wholesale side of Rimas before they closed.

I think the location is the vendor set up on the beach beside Flamingo. She has some nice dresses and different than the usual seen in most places.

I've walked past that area on the beach many times, but never stopped. I'll definitely do that next trip, as I'm looking for some nice sundresses too. I love the little Rima spaghetti strap dresses for swimsuit coverups and wearing around the house, but would like something a little more substantial for going out to dinner and such.

Carol we saw a RIMA Wholesale sign same street as the original store but closer to the police station end. The sign in window read WEARHOUSE so maybe it's where products for the locals to sell are stored?

Now that I see the prices on the website, the ladies walking around in that heat selling them, are really inexpensive!! (And the websites prices aren't high.)
I always buy from them. I have a chiffon one still hanging here unworn, plus all the others I use as cover ups or around the villa.

Well, yeah, but the prices in the retail store were much lower than what is shown on the website.. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Mad.gif" alt="" />

I would be happy to buy from the ladies on the beach, as they do work so very hard for a pittance, but once you stop one the others swarm in like flies on ..., well you get my drift.

It really depends I guess. I'm not at all interested in a massage, so if that lady comes by, I tell her that I'm not interested in a massage, but I WOULD be interested in either the jewelry or clothing. That really seems to work. The jewelry or clothing ladies come by and the massage ladies seem to just smile and pass by. And once I have purchased something, I can tell the other ladies that I have made my purchase and they just smile and move on. That has worked for me at Mullet several times. When I say that, I do feel an obligation to purchase something from the clothing or jewelry lady, but that is usually not real hard.

The markup on the dresses/clothing ranges from 200% to 300% (or more). So the clothing women do ok on a few sales a day.

I would say that's true, based on what the retail prices used to be in the store. I paid probably 300% of what I could have bought the same thing at the store for.

There is another store that sells dresses, tops, etc. just like the Rima line of clothes. It is on Front Street (Philipsburg) very far to the north. It is called Looking Up with a maroon awning over the entrance on the beach side. There is no boardwalk this far north so just keep walking and eventually you will find it. They have very inexpensive clothes and so much to choose from. The owner will also negotiate for a discount if you buy enough

I was pretty sure I saw a sign when in town one day. I emailed Rima from their website and below is the response I received.
Hello!
Thanks for writing to us! At this time, we have a wholesale outlet located in Philipsburg. We also have an authorized Rima retail outlet located on Old Street in Philipsburg as well. It goes by the name of Kenny’s Duty Free Store. Best Regards,
Kedar Santwani Rima Beach World
