My husband got an ugly case of sand flea or sand fly bites on his leg. The pharmacist recommended a cream a couple of days ago that provides some relief, but I really think he could use an oral antihistamine. Is this something we can obtain at the French side pharmacy by Super U, and is there a particular product name we should be looking for? Thanks!

Just about any pharmacy on either side should be able to help with an oral antihistamine. Benadryl or the generic equivalent would be a suggestion, although it and most antihistamines may cause drowsiness. Claritin, Zyrtec and Allegra are also ones to consider. 18 years as a pharmacy tech in another life. I have found most of the Dutch side pharmacies to be very helpful and I would expect the same on the French side. Good luck.

The generic name for Benadryl is diphenhydramine. Pronounced "die-fen-high-druh-meen"

This might help when talking to the pharmacist.
