4 nights in VG

4 nights in VG - 12/26/2015 03:41 PM

Merry Christmas everyone. I am presently in vacation limbo. We originally booked a crewed charter for 8 nights in July, but we had to cancel. We already purchased our plane tickets (got an incredible rate out of JFK) so we will be going down as planned. Now this where I need some advice. We are still trying to charter for 5 nights but we will have four nights to play with. We really want to stay on virgin gorda, but most of the villas require a 5 night minimum. What other options do I have. We have stayed in Tortola and JVD, but never in virgin gorda for more than a night on previous charters. It is just my family of four going. We are taking the kids for there first time and think VG is best for a couple of land based days. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

If you are taking kids I would consider the BEYC. Lots for kids to do and they often have some pretty good off season rates.

I would look at Leverick Bay. There's plenty for the kids to do and you can also rent a car and tour the island.

The BEYC idea is a good one. I thought they used to have a sort of "surf 'n turf" package, where you spent some time on land and some on a boat, but I can't find it on their re-vamped web site. You might ask about that, as it could be cost effective.

Guavaberry Spring Bay would be my choice. Great beach, safe and very family friendly. Been going there for 30 years..

Hey, we had real good luck with an olde yard village condo #139440 on VRBO....2 br and came with a car, thought it was a good deal. I'm getting serious about booking it again...close to a lot, and not over the top $wise..not sure how old the kids are, but mine were 16/14 and survived just fine....ymmv

Ditto Guavaberry Spring Bay from us. Check out their web page. Lot's of beaches withing walking distance, including the Bath's, a commissary, snorkel gear, some sweet dog's, and a sense of privacy due the remarkable landscaping. Staying there three week's in '16. Can't wait... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/circle.gif" alt="" />

We did this on our very first BVI trip, and it was a great introduction to bareboating and the BVI. Unfortunately I don't think it exists anymore. Some years ago BEYC got rid of their Freedom 30 boats and stopped offering this package.

Thank you everyone for such quick replies. I did look into BEYC but it was close to 1100.00 a night which included meals, but we like to try the local food. I will look at guavaberry spring bay. We really like the leverick or Mahoe Bay Area. We already have our charter under contract so I don't need help with that. Any other suggestions are appreciated.

Although I haven't stayed there, I'm familiar with the property and the area, and Brian seems like a stand-up guy. Have a look at Adagio Villa.
For a budget choice, although well located and quite nice, check out Fischer's Cove Resort. We actually stayed there when the kids were little, when we ended up stranded on VG - long story. It was great!

We stayed at Mango Bay for a few days recently. We loved it and will definitely go back. We have stayed in a few places on the island, but absolutely loved Mango Bay. Mahoe Bay is beautiful and close to everything.

The South Sound Waterfront villa is available for a 4 night stay. Gives you kayaks to use and a dinghy/outboard is also available.
Thanks

Can't say enough good things about Jan and this property. My wife and I loved the property, pool, location, and of course Jan.

In North Sound you could try Saba Rock they seem pretty reasonable rates and mayhave availability. Ask for Lara or David. I also know Nick is on here from Leverick Bay and he is very accommodating. More to do at Leverick Bay IMHO. How old are your children?
