Left before nine for Phillipsburg. Dropped the ladies off near Holland House and went to park the car. Parked in the lot easily as I guess the rush hadn’t gotten up and left as early as we did. Had a nice walk to the Holland House and ordered. We had a Caribbean omelet, poached eggs , ham and cheese omelet and eggs Benedict. Everyone had a nice French pastry with coffee and tea. All the breakfasts and pastry were Very Good. I don’t remember a single complaint. We watched a group go down the boardwalk on segways with one man in the group appearing a bit taken aback by this and one of the instructors hanging back trying to help him. There were 2 cruise ships in port and we started seeing the water taxi’s begin bringing them to the city. Finishing breakfast we were off to Oro Diamonte for some shopping. On the way we stopped in the Liz Clairborne shop for a few tops. Then to Oro. A pendant, earrings and a ring later we left to head to the store. We were going to the Grande Marche in Cole Bay but someone suggested we stop at the food store there at the roundabout leaving Phillipsburg. Got everything we wanted and headed back to Pelican. After putting everything away we headed for the pool. It was packed.
Tonight was our BBQ up at the new picnic area above the D units were we stay. One of the group had gotten maintenance to bring up some tables and chairs, which was perfect. We had about 25 to 30 people in attendance. There was tons of good food. Ribs, chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs(thanks to Bob for being the duty cook), a couple green salads, a great noodle/tuna salad and more. We had a beautiful birthday cake that was ordered from the Hollywood Café with a huge sparkler on top for one of our group, Judge Judy, whose birthday it was. We also had lots of other deserts. A couple of fruit cakes from Le Sucriere and a super fruit salad. There were lots of liquid refreshments as well. All in all I think I can say everyone enjoyed themselves. This was our second annual group BBQ and all agreed we superceded last years by quite a bit. We learned some tricks from last year with the best one being putting the ribs in the oven for a little while so that when we got them to the BBQ it didn’t take as long to cook them. Tomorrow we are off to Le’Escargot for their Great Friday Cabaret Dinner and Show. Really looking forward for that. Until tomorrow, Have A Great Day…..
