Maybe the Lagoon offers some better condo living? There is no question the Saba is better designed and built to sail. Even more so if you ever want to go upwind. When it comes to multihulls specifically and sailboats in general saving weight is everything when it comes to performance.

The Lagoon weighs in at almost twice thew Saba 50.

Lagoon 52 DISPLACEMENT 57,403 lb

SAIL AREA DISPLACEMENT RATIO 18

DISPLACEMENT-LENGTH RATIO 191

Saba 50 - Displacement 34,600 lb

SAIL AREA DISPLACEMENT RATIO 23

DISPLACEMENT-LENGTH RATIO 150

The rudders are also too small and in the wrong place relative to mass on the Lagoon giving the helmsman very poor feel.

The only hull advantage the Lagoon has is 4 more feet of waterline in a hull speed race. If you are looking for a condo with a mast to motor around in go with the Lagoon. If you are on a trip were the crew truly does expect to sail the Saba may be the fit. If one has a watermaker and the other does not? Take the boat with the watermaker.
