Report Day 6. Forgot to mention our boat.
We were on a Moorings 4500 Catamarin which is wonderful and has 4 cabins/4 heads. Very spacious and comfortable. Sailed and handled well (twin screw helps). Anchoring was easy. Shallow, sany bottoms helped.
We scrapped one of the keels getting out of Hopetown Harbor ("no harm, no foul") and sailed off South to Sandy Cay. THis is a marine water park and snorkling was wonderful. Good healthy reef with lots of fish. Then we sailed back past the Tilloo Bank. This is a shallow bank and famous for the sand dollars and star fish. We had seen plenty of starfish at Bakers Bay and most places we anchored. We anchored off Tahiti Beach (a gorgeous beach good place to swim). Then off to anchor outside of White Bay. We ate that night at Abaco Inn ("Barefoot elegance"). It was the loveliest setting (set atop the dune with Atlantic on oneside, White sound on other.). this was the best meal of the trip. Similar foods to elsewhere but prepared ala gourmet.
Nightime on the tramp stargazing and drinking painkillers.

Day 7. We all had such a great time at Treasure Cay we decided to go back. We motored since we were directly with the wind. took 3 hrs to get there. The Billfishers were still there. About thetime we got there the skies opened up and we experienced the only significan rain of the week. 2 hrs worth. Gave us time for a nice nap. Ashore to the pool/beach/showers. This was the last day of the Fishing tourney and awards night. The tourney was actually catch and release. Points were given for catches (only fish over 300 pounds could be brought in.
Dinner that night at Spinnaker, another buffet, this time a gourmet stuffed grouper and prime rib. Excellent.

Day 8. OUr last day at sea. We had engine trouble. The rain the day before shorted out the starter. We were glad for the Moorings. Their chase boat came out in 1 hr and fixed us up. We motored back to Moorings base. We decided to spend the last night/afternoon in Marsh Harbor. Our boat had A/C so was comfortable. Our flight back left at noon and we needed to checkout/cleanup so came in night before rather than early sailin. We were able to shop in Marsh Harbor. Got a "Barefoot Man" CD. ("In the Caribbean") Really good nice song about Nippers ,etc.
We ate that night at Mangoes, also very good and highly recommended.

Day 9 Home. Mostly uneventful. I had lots of anxiety about connecting in Miami. The AA flight from MHH to MIA is often late. In any event it was easy and American did a good job. and we were home on time.

Final Observations: A very wonderful trip. Similar to BVIs in that navigation is line of sight, easy. Interesting places to go (we didn't get to Petes Pub or Green Turtle Cay or Man O War Cay. (For our next trip maybe).
The Bahamian (Abaconian) people are wonderful. Gentle easy going. We felt totally safe everywhere.
The food was good not great, with a few notable acceptions. Cost about $20 to 30 each for dinner.
All-in-all a wonderful trip.
