O.K. I'm back after a brief hospital stay after a fight with a pesky bout of pneumonia. Five broken nails now but who's counting? Now where were we?

Tuesday, February 15th

Went sailing today again with DenDen. Today we're planning to go to Sandy Cay and Green Cay. Do you still call it sailing if it's in a fishing boat? Just askin? Water is choppy, but we finally reach Sandy Cay. Walk around, looking at trees and lizards and such. Finally we're back on the beach and for some reason, the boat seems further away than when we left it. Uh maybe that's because it is - much further away. Dang concrete block he uses for an anchor didn't hold. As Scooby would say "ruh roh". Nice man puts on snorkel gear and goes out to bring the boat in. It really surprises me how heavy this small boat is when you're fighting with the water. Wow!! O.K. we're outta here and no Green Cay for us either. We go back to Belize Bay and then to East End Cay. At East End Cay when I got out of the boat, the sand felt like I was going to sink through. Felt very strange. Hung out there for a while. Then back to Sydney's to drop some stuff off.

I am such an amateur getting out of boats, it's beyond ridiculous. I absolutely love being on the water, but when it's time go get in and out of boats, the dread sets in. I see people get in and out of boats, and the green monster comes out. Yes, I admit it, I'm jealous. I wanna get in and out of the boats when there's no ladder and a high dock easy like that too. ARRRRR!!!! So there!! So, of course DenDen has to be very patient when it was time to disembark. He always reached for my hand and said "don't fall Sharon". Don't know how many times he said that between yesterday and today. Finally, I asked him, don't you see I'm doing a little better getting in and out? He just looked at me and just laughed. We sat around just talking and laughing with a couple of the guys until it was time to head back to White Bay.

Denen gets in the boat and reaches for my hand. I grab for his hand and everybody starts yelling. HUH?? Well, I quickly realized that I'm now in a split - one foot on the boat and one on the dock. DenDen is yelling to put my foot in the boat. Uh ok. Just how do I do that? Easy. I fall in the water. DenDen is looking at me like I lost my mind and like he want to thrash me (ruh roh). The rest of us are laughing our butts off. The best is yet to come. How do I get back in the boat? Yes, I know ya'll are saying just pull yourself into the boat. Uh Huh. If you've ever seen a picture of me, you KNOW I'm not gonna be able to do that. So, the guys come to help me up on the dock, so I can get back in the boat the right way this time. This is where everybody and I mean everybody got their laugh of the day and probably their week.

One of the guys reaches out his hand so I can climb up on the dock. Yep, 240 lbs and bottom heavy - that's gonna work. Then another guy comes and grabs my other arm. O.K. now we're cooking. NOT!! Everybody (and I mean everybody including the people having drinks at Sydney's) keep screaming at me to pull myself up. Really!! I mean really!! What were they thinking??? Another guy finally grabs my leg and all three pull me up on the dock. So, here I am laying on a dock on my stomach AGAIN!! (flashback to the Frozen T shirt contest at the Pub, and three men pulling me up on the dock flash before my eyes). I'm so embarassed, I just laid there for a few minutes, soaking up all the belly laughs around me. For two days, DenDen kept saying "don't fall". Of course, I feel like strangling him when he told everybody he kept telling me not to fall. I tell him, that of course, it's his fault it happened. Finally, I scrape up the last of my dignity and slowly, so slowly get into the boat. Everybody is still laughing like crazy when we leave. I know when I go back, they're gonna remember what happened and laugh again. I ask why is my life such an adventure?

Wednesday February 16th

Lobster delivery today. Tena talks me into taking a pic with two of them. I know you can't see the fear on my face but I was so scared since I had never held a live lobster. Yay! Bunn is on the road again and he picks me up for the ferry. Say my goodbyes and I'm off. Back to mellow. Ferry is crowded but I find a seat in my favorite corner. Man is sitting on the other side with his foot on my bag. I think to myself "maybe you're seeing things Sharon just relax". Then, he got comfortable and really put his foot on my bag. Oh no. I go over to him and before I could say anything, he said "oh, I'll watch it for you." I looked at him and said "no, I don't need you to watch it, I need you to take your foot off it". O.K. Sad last look at Jost, but it's cool, I'm heading to stay at CRC my favorite place on Tortola to stay with the hostesses with the mostesses - Candace and Mal.

Yes, I have lots of pics, but, since my family have me on lojack (sp?) since I've been sick, I haven't been able to put them on webshots yet. Hopefully, I'll be able to post the rest of a very short final trip report and the pics next week.
