Most of the hotels are still closed including the "big ones" that should have withstood this storm. My place is looking at another year from now to reopen, what a mess. I was going to Key West in Feb for a special occasion but have changed my mind, the drive will be just too sad.
Meant to comment on this as the "big ones" can't stand up to the storm surge that demolished the Atlantic side. Also not going down to the Keys doesn't help as they need our "tourists dollars". I'd encourage anyone thinking of going to the Keys or the BVI's to GO and spend money.
