Just got back on Tuesday night after spending 3 wonderful weeks (Jan. 14 - Feb. 4) on SXM. I guess we picked a good time to go - heard it was hovering around zero here in NJ.

Here are some of the highlights of the trip:

First night there we went to Mary's Boon for Dicky's TTOL party. Can't be sure how many people there were but I'd guess 20-30 - nice BBQ and coconut drinks by the pool. Thanks, Dicky.[Linked Image]

Dicky arranged a c/o private cruise for 12 of us aboard Gypsy Charters. They operate a 50 foot Hatteras out of Chesterfield's. The crew was so friendly and the food and drinks were wonderful. The weather could have been better as we hit some rough seas and swells traveling along the Caribbean coast. We couldn't go around the island because the Atlantic side was even rougher. We stopped at Happy Bay, which I finally got to see, and anchored in Grand Case where we lunched on board. After my second mudslide, I piloted the boat part way home[Linked Image]. If anyone is interested in a private charter, Dicky can make the reservations and handle the details for you.

We went to Bamboo Bernie's to see the Rolling Stones concert from MSG. What better way to see the Stones than lying on a lounge chair, sipping your favorite beverage, enjoying the gentle warm breezes, and watching the concert on a 21 foot screen[Linked Image]. I was nearly deaf for a couple of days since we sat in the front row but that's the price you pay when you get older - never bothered me when I was young???

We had my husband's birthday party for 20 people at the Bridge Restaurant in Marigot. It's got the same view as Mario's but for a fraction of the cost for dinner. Wonderful food with a caribbean flair. I bought a cake from the bakery at the US Import - Chocolate Royale [Linked Image][Linked Image].

Friends hosted a Super Bowl party at their villa at Sapphire Beach Club. They brought in ribs, chicken, and salads from Under the Tree (now I know why everyone raves about that place). We didn't care who won the game since it wasn't the Jets or the Giants.[Linked Image]

And last, but not least, there was Contessa's pahty on the Sunday night before we left. We had never been to Alizea before and it's a lovely place with a super view. Contessa arranged for us to use the diningroom of the hotel so there was plenty of room for everyone (60 or so people). Great food[Linked Image][Linked Image][Linked Image], music, and company. Thanks Contessa and Sword!!!

On our last day there, we went to Cupecoy (our favorite beach) to spend our last few hours relaxing in the sun. As our friends Jimmy and Denise said "You have to go home so you can return". So true.....

Susie
