We just returned from 8 glorious days in Paradise. Our fourth trip to St. Martin was perfect. We took our daughter and her fiance` with us this year. We arrived one day before our Time share week at the Sapphire on a Friday after a four hour delay in Philadelphia. All we were told is that something is wrong with the plane????????? Anyway we finally arrived Friday night and met Marious at the airport with our rental car. We made reservations to stay the night at the Summit Resort. It was very cozy as we all stayed in one room

! The owners there were wonderful to us and even made us a pot of coffee before hours at the pool. We enjoyed meeting them.
We moved on to the Sapphire and checked our baggage in the storage room and met up with another couple. We promptly left for Pinel Beach which was our first visit. We loved it. The rest of the week we visited our favorite beaches and let sand gravity sink in. This year we went very casual and decided to eat casually as well. Let me just say this, Peg Leg Pub makes the best French onion soup in the island. On Super Bowl Sunday we intended to go to Ric"s place but we couldn't get near the door.

It was packed so we decided to go to the Boathouse. We told the hostess there that we were there to watch the game. The only TV's were in the bar area. Believe it or not she set up a table for us right in front of the TV. We had a wonderful dinner and front row seats. Now that was service. We give them two thumbs up for that!
I won't bore you all with the daily details and experiences. Each day seemed to melt in to the other. You know how it is. We loved the Sapphire and stayed in an oceanfront one bedroom unit. Gorgeous view! We were a little disappointed with the service. In the past it has been excellent but this year we had to request towels, yes they didn't leave any and toilet paper which was overlooked too. Now we are not fussy people but some things are a necessity! We also think that the people at the Reception desk could take a course in Smiling 101 because they have frgotten how to do that.

There is a wonderful; employee there, however, named Marcia who will do anything to make your stay wonderful. We rented chairs from her for the week.{She does this on the side}. We paid $25.00 for two nice beach chairs and an umbrella. Well worth the price. She's wonderful and an asset to the Sapphire.
We left on Saturday afternoon and placed some sand in our shoes, which will supposedly guarantee our return. We took one last breath of fresh warm air and savored the moment before we walked up the steps to our plane. We were not only leaving behind a perfect vacation but a little piece of our hearts as well. There is no other place in the world like St. Martin and we can't wait to return.
