May 26 Sunday from the log of Vibeke

07:30 am: We dropped off our mooring temporarily to motor Vibeke the one mile out to Snorkel the Indians and Pelican. Great snorkeling, and early is mandatory as there are very few National Park Mooring balls
that have a 1.5 hour time limit. We honor that, and have plenty of time to snorkel and then drop off to allow other sailors and boaters to use the limited time N.P. moorings for their snorkeling adventure.

We were the first boat to arrive, and snugged close in to the Indians. We got our snorkel gear ready and waited a bit for the sun to get higher and light up the corals and marine life. Within a few minutes other vessels began
to arrive and the moorings were beginning to fill up. ..

We did a giant stride entry off the swim step, exchanged OK signals, and began finning along the tall rocks to the Indians. We were treated to an amazing underwater world of brain, finger, fan and other corals. A huge
school of Blue Tangs swarmed around us, and we also observed many other species of plentiful and colorful marine life. Finning back to Vibeke, we climbed the stern swim ladder to board . Easy stuff as we
used the stern shower hose to clean our snorkel gear and take fresh water showers. Just fresh boat water, no soap or chemicals went back into the water . Nice way to begin the day.

For us, mother natures treasures are very special.

09:00: We dropped off the N.P. mooring , and motored back into the the Bight. It was a peaceful calm, sunny morning as we slowly cruised along the inner shore line past the laid up broken bones and wreck of the old Will-yT.
She was sent to her doom by the 180 to 200 mph winds and ranging waves of Hurricane Irma . September Remember !

12:00 Noon: Sunday May 26th. Peacefully resting to our mooring.

What the heck is that !!! Great hammering and roaring engines that sounded like we were at the National Hotrod Association Drags ! From my old street and strip drag racing days, I still love the the sound
of high powered muscle cars and dragsters. Real built up V-8 engines roaring with mega horse power, only these monsters were in sleek go fast race boats.

It was the ANNUAL BVI POKER RUN . They just kept coming in until late in the afternoon to pickup their card to fill their poker hand and have a fun lunch and booze stop at Pirates. They had several different stops
at various islands where they would pick up one card and blast off to the next island eventually fill their poker hands, The big party was at the finish at Leverick Bay.

We dinked ashore, and went into the Club since the major mass of party goers were next door, crowded into Pirates. Sitting on the outside edge of the Clubs deck with our toes in the sand and a rum, we watched all of the
action. Aye, and a good lively , fun loving bunch they were.

3:30 pm: The fleets of go fasts of all kinds are leaving, and that included two 100 ton high decked ferry boats filled with non racers who just wanted to join in on the good times.

Back on board Vibeke, i am relaxing in the cockpit with a rum, toasting to the departing high powered sleek go fasts with double rooster tails trailing behind their sterns.

Ahhhhhm Peace has returned to the Bight.
