When I get those calls I just act as alarmed as I can and ask a lot of questions keeping them on the line as long as I can. I offer to send money and then I tell them someone is at my door and ask if they can call me back at a different number. It's 1-555- F***y** then hang up. Man you have too much time on your hands! Talking to them? I don’t even answer my phone if I don’t recognize the number or the name on a call display. If it is important- they will leave a message. They usually don’t. And you know what else? I don’t get these stupid calls nearly as much as I did before I stopped answering. Maybe a couple a month now versus a half a dozen a day before!
