Thanks Carol and we also hope everyone is safe. We aren’t there now but have a home located between Puerto Morelos and PDC and have been in contact with our friends and neighbors through 0700 hrs today. Wind gusts in that area reported around 110 km/h (70 MPH), no damage in the neighborhood as of that time, but electricity went out around 0430 hrs. They were awaiting the next half of the hurricane when I received the last report at 0700 hrs.
However the central area of the cone is ever so slightly to the north...Storm surge and flooding is also a HUGE concern along the coast from PDC north, and we won’t know the extent of the damage until later.
Hope to have updates from the different areas soon. We expect flooding around our neighborhood as there is just nowhere for the water to go, and we just had that experience again with Gamma. But we are worried most about locals and residents in lower lying areas that are prone to flooding...
