Thanks Jason. Now that you've confirmed the process at SJU I'll stick with my itinerary per your recommendation vs going via STT :-).

One other quick question ... do you happen to know if Silver has a baggage handling agreement with American? I know they retained a partnership since they took over Seaborne so I'm thinking they may. If that was the case, I'd def look at taking their late afternoon flight vs IC.
