Your post touched a chord with me. My husband and I first went to SXM in 1992 and fell in love with the island. We went back 25 times, often twice a year, until he became ill around 2013 and passed away in 2018. I'm not sure I could go back to SXM without him. We both thought that SXM had a very "adult" vibe - the food, the nightlife, the beaches, the shopping. I hope you have a wonderful trip.

May I add one piece of advice, learned in my second career overseeing a cemetery and crematorium? If you scatter ashes, please ensure that no one is standing downwind, that no one can inhale them. Very harmful.
