A battery-powered carbon monoxide detector. Why? Well, one time we were docked at the Bitter End right next to a 120-foot yacht that kept a diesel engine running all night. We were not too happy with the exhaust coming our way, and considered sleeping on the beach.
The detector weighs very little and is easy to bring. Of course, that situation will never happen again.
