Annnnd one more thing...
While we anchored almost every night, at Warderick Wells you have to take a ball. In doing so, we had a dilemma. There are cleats on the "deck", inside of the bows which seem like the perfect place to tie the bridle. Only thing is, there's a placard right next to it that says "For light use only. Not for mooring." Hmm. There are also cleats on the outside of the bows that are bigger and used for tying up to a dock but running the bridle from there means the line(s) are going over the deck and are going to be doing a lot of chafing.
We weren't sure what to do so we called in and they told us to use the forward/inside cleats. They said in settled weather, they are fine. It begs the question about even more chafe in heavy weather when you apparently need to use the bigger/outer cleats but we didn't have that problem.
Anyway, figured I'd mention this little quirk.
