Ok, here goes. Should have written notes to myself to keep track of everything. I'll try my best. I will have pictures at a later date to post. I made plans in May to get away to an island where I hoped my office cell phone would not work. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/busted.gif" alt="" /> It did not work, nor my Blackberry. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" /> I had hoped my sister would join me, alas family business problems prevented her from coming. So I was alone! Was a bit out of sorts about being aIone, but every place I went everyone made me feel comfortable. I flew in to SXM from Newark on Cont. No problems. Unity cars had someone waiting, drove me to my car, paper work signed and I was on my way within 20 minutes after landing. Stayed at Mary's Boon. Greeted by a lovely hostess, presented with a bottle of Champange upon entering Unit. Met great people there, had dinner the first night at the resort. The food and service were beyond my belief. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Joy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Thumbsup.gif" alt="" /> Most mornings I walked the beach after breakfest, made in Unit. I purchased most of my food and booze from Food Express. Products were fresh. Went to Rams once, would not depend on the food again. Veggies were limp, fruit flys were a problem. During my morning walks I had a protector, a dog named Blackie <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Woof.gif" alt="" /> who took a liking to almost every woman who walked the beach alone. I had a beautiful view from the studio above the lobby/rest. area. Watched the ships leave the area. I explored the Island on Sunday to get an idea of where the beaches were. Went to Dawn beach on Monday, ate at Mr. B, had cold Caribs for .75 until 4PM. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/toast.gif" alt="" /> I am now having Carib withdrawals. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" /> Dinner at Mr. Lee's (met Mrs. orig. from NY, felt like long lost friends) Bannas, Peg Legs, all great. No waiting for service, maybe because I was alone and arrived after 7:30. Met up with some fun people, got invited to the Red Piano at Pelgin? for Thusdays nite Karoke(sp). Used to sing years ago, after some encouragement <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drinking.gif" alt="" /> I sang a mean Tina Turner <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/band.gif" alt="" /> , danced with a frenchmen, always loved that accent. Hit the slots at a few Casino's, never went how broke. I also went to Oyster Pond for an afternoon, surf was rough. The weather was great, rained a few times, mostly at nite. I got lost trying to avoid going thru Phillipsburg, found my way back to Simpson bay after some sweet kids guided me. All in all, this trip was just what I needed to recharge my batteries. Spent many an afternoon at SSBB or at Mary's Boon deck looking at the planes land. Planning my next trip already, hope to be back in Oct or Nov. I want to explore more of the Island then. I also want to stop back at DK Gems and hope the ring I wanted is still there. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/hammer.gif" alt="" /> Me thinks I have to plan a 2 week trip next year. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Cool.gif" alt="" /> Thanks for letting me get this out, work was crazy this week, first time I had to think about posting.
