Had to make a quick trip back to LA to take care of some business and then head back to the BVI's July 1..but some thoughts about that last wonderful month in the islands..it was terrific meeting everyone at the TTOL party..big thanks to Gary Kilbride for his extremely thoughtful gift and to Gary T and his wonderful family for their surprise present that now hangs proudly on the walls of CRC..Had a wonderful day sailing with Gary and gang to Jost..what hosts..even a champagne toast and a team shirt...thank you guys so much..friends for life..Nice to spend time with all the big TTOL mucky mucks..Bill, Jeff , Eric and Carol..did we have a good time or what!!??
Loved spending time with Walker and Nancy as always and we'll see them again next month...hopefully with a trip to Anegada again..
But the biggest surprise of all..and I still cant believe they pulled it off. I'd been trying to pursuade Rex and Laura to try to make it down for the big bash but they kept saying that family and business commitments were making it impossible...sooo..there I am in Myett's having a cold one when they just waltz in..I literally did the classic double take!! They pulled the whole thing off without me having a clue..If that's not enough..Laura had spent days handpainting a sign for CRC that now proudly hangs in " Sparky's Sky Lounge"...thank you thank you guys..
On the dining and dancing front..wonderful meals at Brandywine, Spaghetti Juntion, The Dove, Bananakeet, Coco Plums, Palms Delight , Jolly Roger and burgers at Nicole's and Stanley's..hard to beat...and great times listening to Quito.
It does look as though Quito will be releasing a "Greatest Hits" CD hopefully to co incide with his twenty fifth anniversary in August..Now I have to get my butt in gear to write the liner notes I promised him..All in all ..wonderful times with wonderful friends..thanks to everyone who brought great food and booze to the bash..Davide..John ..Lou..wow..what a great group of pals!!
