Well we made it.
We had a fantastic time, despite the few rainy days. Turtle Dove lodge and the Oleander were great. The cottage had everything we needed. We had the opportunity to look at the other two cottages and while they were bigger, I thought the Oleander had the best views of all. You could see both Apple Bay, Long Bay and the sunsets. Jim and Genie were good hosts and had some tips on where to eat etc in the area. One of the places that they recommended Palm's Delight, turned out to be one of my favourites, the ginger wine chicken was one of the best chicken dishes I ever had and only cost $10. Another place I heartly recommend is the North Shell Museum. Egbert is a sweetheart and we had 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner there, $5 gets you coffee, juice, scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, and 3 pancakes (your choice of flavour). We also ate at the Jolly Roger-excellent chicken wings, Myetts-great ribs, The Pub, Pussers-not my favourite too much like home, Foxy's, Cappricio De Mare-yummy french toast made with croissants. For our big dinner out we chose Sugar Mill, we were going to pick Brandywine, but it was too long of a ride back in the dark on those crazy roads. $84 for 1 gingerale, 1 glass of wine, 2 orders of filet migon,an appetitiser, and a piece of carrot cake, not too bad I thought, we did alot worse at Little Dix Bay on Virgin Gorda for lunch one day yikes $5.50 a Carib and $3.50 a Coke! But at least we got to use their incredible beach.
We didn't get out on our day sail with Dual Bliss because of the rain, and we missed the full moon party as well. We layed down on the bed to wait for the rain to stop so we could head down to Bomba's and didn't wake up, Oh well I guess we're just not party animals [Linked Image]. And it leaves some things to do on our next visit.
Mark rented a sail board from BVI board sailing and had fun windsurfing, he also tried surfing for the first time a Josiah's bay. Long Bay Beef Island was our favourite beach of all there was never anyone there and there is some pretty good snorkelling on the right side. We also really like the snorkelling at Brewer's Bay too, better than Smugglers.
As for driving. Mark loved the driving and found it to be fun, what can I tell you, he's an adreniline junky. [Linked Image]
We rented a 4x4 from Denzil Cline and he was great. Picked us up and dropped us off at the ferry dock.
All in all we had a good trip and would go back in a heartbeat, there still so many things we didn't have time to see.
I'll be happy to answer any ?'s. I have to go away for 4 days (my Mom fell and hurt her back) but I'll answer when I get back.
Kim
Sad [Linked Image] to be back, but happy[Linked Image] to see my [Linked Image] again.

Edited by Administrator on 5/17/01 04:22 PM.
