Left Fri. June 1, both flights from Louisville and Atlanta delayed. We meet 7 others en route to Tortola! Arrive at St Thomas about 4:30 pm, get to ferry dock at 5 pm for last ferry! Whew!<br>Warm welcome at Long Bay resort. Room is on hillside with jacuzzi - ocean view, nestled in the palms and flowers.$185/night. Lovely! Have deck,frig , wet bar- we fix cereal for breakfast most morns. Had great buffet at Long Bay beach restaurant(27.00/per) heard Spark Plugs. Took stroll on LB's awesome beach.<br> Sat- Rent Daihatsu for week at hotel (National) $415. Swim laps at BIG pool. Work out for an hour at gym. Great facility! Hike 1 1/2 miles to Smuggler's Cove.About 6 people there. Honor bar for cokes and beer. OK snorkeling.Fair lunch at Long Bay $42.00.Honeymoon dinner at Sugar Mill- sat on porch(best seats). Met another 7 people from Louisville! Linda lobster, Rick filet.Delicious, romantic.About $62.00 for food.<br> Sun- Ferry to VG. Walk the baths, fun snorkel around rocks to Devil's Bay.Walk to Top of Baths restaurant for lunch and (first) painkillers- fun band playing.Beautiful setting, decent shopping. Drop in Pusser's on return for rum buzz maintenance.Myett's for tasty grilled fish and chicken- with drinks, total $75.00. Good jump up dancing for an hour.<br> Mon-Carnival ship in dock- we escape by Clair Aero to Anegada $132.00 rt for 2.Awesome, smooth flight.Meet Mitch for taxi to Loblolly.He gives history and geography lesson en route, stopping to point things out. We are alone on beach for 2 hours. Lunch and "park" at Big Bamboo- lobsters pulled from trap for lunch with rice, slaw and salad $46.00/2. Never had better! Mitch returns and takes us around island for tour. We give him well-deserved $30.Ask for him! Dinner at Palm's Delight- great local fresh fish and veggies $20.00/2.Only cash here!<br>Tues- Work out at gym.Toured Road Town, shopped.Pusser's for 2 painkillers. Met couple from resort for drinks and dinner at Skyworld. Fabulous ceviche , Linda has scampi, Rick mahi. Superb food and views.$95 for food/bev.Hiked to full moon party at Bomba's.Had tea, burned tongue. We leave a Ky Derby sign at bar, Bomba hangs it by his "throne". Honored.Hike back, no traffic toward West End.<br>Wed- Day trip on Patouche II. Loved Joe and Julie- best snorkeling yet at Caves,Norman . Shark, barracuda, snake, squid and great coral. Good quiche, homemade bread, pasta salad for lunch. Plenty Carib beer. Dinner buffet at Fort Burt- splendid, romantic.Best-kept secret on isle?GO on Wednesday-$27/per. Music good.Rick meets wild donkey head on- near miss.<br>Th- Overpriced breakfast Long Bay.$15./per Work out. Wild drive to Brewer's Bay. Ferry to Marina Cay- great place, snooty staff. Only time this trip.Calimari, conch fritters,4 painkillers $ 27.JRs for dinner- fish, veggies- very good.$65.00 including drinks.<br>Fr- Breakfast Shell Museum with Egberth.Huge mango pancakes, egg, bacon juice for $5. We learn of his work with kids- wish we had more $$ with us! Give him a $20.Work out.Ferry to Jost.Explore Foxy's- best clothes in BVI. Hike to White Bay.Connect with many friends.Painkiller's at Soggy Dollar- fun crowd here! Hike back, lunch at Ali Baba's- $30.00/2 including Caribs. Dinner at Quito's, meet friends and the famous BILL from BVI board.Rest of Cadeuceus crew stays afloat in CGB with assorted maladies.Sorry to miss you! Best roti here.<br>Sat- ferry to St. Thomas.Quick pass through customs.Found great,authentic food at Victor's New Hideout- $3 cab from airport.Hike back, sit at beach for hour before flying back.<br>Notes: Long Bay resort was great, contrary to some internet reports.Definitely get a jeep- we picked up people every day and learned much about BVI.We saved by doing cereal in room- next time will bring hot plate and pan for soups.Rick and I got in good shape before trip- we were able to hike lots- you get a real feel for the land plus an unparalleled view of flora and fauna. Watch those 2 ft lizards- bigger than cats! Spend the extra money the first time for day trips. Each island is unique.Thanks for all the help in our planning- we will post pics as soon as possible.
