This was our 3rd trip to Provo, 2nd to RWI. It won't be our last. We arrived at JFK at 6 AM for the 7:50 AM AA flight #1015 to PLS. We used the electronic check-in, got through security, and were at the gate in 40 mins. Not bad for JFK! The flight departed on time and we touched down in Provo a few minutes after 11AM. The PLS airport was a pleasure. We were through immigration, picked up our bags, and through customs all by 11:30 AM. Waiting just outside the Terminal was a rep from the Grace Bay Car Rental agency, holding a sign with our name. He took us 20 steps to his waiting van and within 15 mins we were pulling up to the RWI! My husband signed the car rental papers while I went inside to check in. I was greeted with a warm welcome and a refreshing rum punch. (WOW, what a difference from February!). The two girls at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Although our room was not ready they had some good news - we were upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite. (bot view). What a nice surprise! They took us to our room and allowed us to put our luggage in the closet. We went and had a bite to eat while our room was being made up. It was just noon and we were beginning our vacation. THE SUITE- spacious and comfortable. It was located on the ground floor in bldg # 5, adjacent to the pool and hot tub. There was a full kitchen, table and chairs, very nice living area with comfortable furniture. There was also a separate bedroom with a king bed. There was a W/D in the room. (It was nice to come home with no laundry.) Besides the usual towels etc, they provided coffee and laundry soap everyday. Housekeeping was excellent. They were very pleasant and helpful. One evening we came back to find fresh flowers all around the room. The bed, tables, towels, even floating in the tub. So thoughtful! I won't bore you with our daily activities since we did just about the same things everyday. We started each day with breakfast on our patio, followed by most of the day on the beach. The BEACH was beautiful. Unlike February, there was very little reserving of beach chairs. It wasn't necessary. ( yet, the resort seemed full). Most evenings we wound up in the pool or hot tub, or at the beach watching the beautiful sunsets. VERY RELAXING! A few times we took a ride around the island. The beaches around the island are beautiful and some of the resorts along Grace Bay are just unbelievable. On those occasions we stopped in Turtle cove for lunch. We ate at the Tiki Hut one day and the Sharkbite another. Both were ok (pub type food). We did think the food at the Sharkbite was a little better. Dinners: Bistro Carib (3 times). This restaurant is located across the street from the RWI. It is located in a Palm Grove. Very romantic. The food was very good. We also ate at Hemmingways. Although it is very popular, we thought the food was just so so. We also ate at the Mango Reef at the RWI, and Bay Bistro. Both were good and more reasonably priced. We went back to Turtle Cove one evening and ate at Baci's. Not worth the trip. Food again was just so so. Probably our favorite place was the Grill at Grace Bay Club. It is just a short walk up the beach from the RWI. You sit out on the deck on wicker couches. There are fire pits right on the water to sit and enjoy your drink. It is pricey but you have to at least have a drink there. The RWI is fast becoming our quick get away place for a little R&R. Flight times are good and fares are very reasonable. Driving on the island is easy as well. Most roads are paved and there is very little traffic. The resorts and beaches are beautiful. It's also nice to walk the beach at night to enjoy some really good restaurants. We had a great time! Anon Ellie
