Going back a bit further, there are books written by a New York writer, I can't think of the name right now, who used to stay on SXM decades ago. The stories i remember were simple murder mysteries, nothing too elaborate, BUT, were set amongst all the beaches, towns and restaurants as they existed at the time and were sold in a charming little store on the French side called Pierre Lapin.
