So...because of the current ferry schedule, I am toying with the idea of hopping on an Air Sunshine flight from STT to VG when I head down for Cat Fight since I am staying on VG for a couple of nights before heading over to JVD. My flight lands at around 1pm on Wednesday. I can ferry to Tortola and then continue on to VG....or....there is a 3:30 daily flight on Air Sunshine for a bit more $$$ than the ferries would cost me.

I am thinking I would have to go around and check in for this since I am booking it separately.

Thoughts?

Air Sunshine leaves from the other side of the terminal, right next to the bar. You don't need to go back through security. And the beer is reasonably priced and super COLD!

On the same vein, anyone ever done the STT-EIS? At $250 it's more than the ferry, but WAY less than $480 each for a charter. 15 minute flight, get there early afternoon.................IT COULD WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup! Okay - but here's the question-- when I exit the plane from Miami in STT - they walk you around to baggage claim - have never just gone back into the terminal from there - doable without checking in via security?

I'm thinking yes? When you deplane, you are in the secure area - we fly carryon, and you are right there outside the terminal - should be allowed in?

As long as you have no access to checked baggage there should be no need to go back through security.

When you deplane at STT you have no choice but to exit the secure area. There is no way to get from the international secure area to the local departure area. Once you claim your bags the counters for the local flights are at the far left of the terminal. You enter a separate waiting area with much faster security.

That's what I thought, Glenn, thanks. I will be doing carry-on but I was pretty sure I had to go around and check in for the AS flight.

The baggage claim area is not sterile so even if you are carry on only you must go back through security if you enter the baggage area.
