I can't believe nobody is talking about the huge upcoming concert taking place in St. Maarten. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" /> This concert is being sponsored by Celebrity Cruise Line and will air on America's most watched NYE TV show "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" /> Superstar rocker Demi Lovato will perform from SXM and she will be part of the famous ABC New Year's Eve show. In fact this is the first time, in the 45 year history of the show, an international performance will be broadcast! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" /> The publicity for St. Maarten will be fantastic! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/circle.gif" alt="" /> Don't miss Demi's performance and kudos for St. Maarten! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Joy.gif" alt="" />

There are a couple of articles about this; the concert is actually sponsored by Celebrity Cruises, and according to one article, is available only to Celebrity guests. Apparently there were four Celebrity ships in SXM on December 28, and that's when the concert was actually held. I didn't see anything about another performance on NYE although I do see where she'll be featured on the TV show. I wonder if those segments are recorded, or if there will actually be another concert.

The concert did occur on 12/28 as mentioned. Her next concert, also sponsored by Celebrity Cruises, is on Feb 3rd in Dubai

I was thinking the same way you are. The concert has already taken place but, as we know, television can do many things such as mixing up live with recorded. My guess is the concert they show on TV will be the recorded one and possibly a live segment thrown in with Demi. Either way, a big win for St. Maarten as many people across America will get the name of St. Maarten on their minds. Particularly because for some strange reason the island spends little to none on advertising its beauty and what it has to offer for tourists. This island is number two in the entire Caribbean for cruise ship stops yet both sides of the island do virtually nothing to promote its wares!

She didn't write it, but she did perform it over the beginning and ending credits of the movie, according to Wikipedia.
