Should pick him up this week after he gets his nutz chopped off. (Ouch)

@5-6 months old came from an owner surrendered from really bad conditions.

Anything special I should know? I've owned only Shetland Sheepdogs before so he is my 1st Huskie

I think his name is going to be Jake. In the pound his name is Maverick.

full of energy, love to dig, get distracted very easily .....you'll need a lot of patience, worth every minute of it.

Ours is 13 months and finally settling down. I'm told they are a lot calmer by their 2nd year. Wouldn't trade her for the world,

Never had a husky myself, but have two rescue dogs myself now. Dogs are such individuals, each one so different. Our first one was abused I think, and he still, 8 years after we adopted him, has some 'issues'. Just really high strung, still. The other one is cool as a cucumber, has been since the beginning. But they love us so much and we love them..

I personally like the name Maverick! You may find it fits him better than Jake.

Good luck. A little high energy but manageable.

Ha ha...I wasn't gonna say it, but glad someone else thinks it too!
He LOOKS like a Maverick..not a Jake.

Gorgeous dog!

Edit: showed hubby...lol...he said neither... Caleb!

I'm a former letter carrier, and I can remember people on my route with 2 adult Huskies. They were very friendly, and seemed to look forward to my arrival when they were in the yard, and I looked forward to seeing them. One loved standing and putting his front paws on my shoulders. One day a car went past & thought that the mailman was being attacked. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

I'm going where the weather suits my clothes.

When they start to shed their inner coat just blows out. Get a good vacuum!
