Friday night, whiling shooting pool at our neighborhood club, my wife and I decided to do something different last weekend. We got up around 8am threw a few clothes in the car and headed south to Hippie Hollow. We have never been there. We have been getting really restless missing SXM and Club O. After a 3hr drive we found our selves in the parking lot of a county clothing optional park on Lake Travis near Austin. Saturday was clear to partly cloudy and around 85 degrees. There is not a beach, just a lot of flat rocks. Not knowing what to expect, we only brought towels to lie on, but we managed just fine. We just enjoyed being free of clothes in the good outdoors. There was the normal good-natured naturist crowd, most were locals, but all were as friendly as can be. We met some from San Antonio also. Around 4:00, all the locals decided they were going in for a dip. Now you have to remember its mid April and just starting to warm up to the 80’s and the water is only 65 degrees, so most were only in just enough to say they did. Everyone had loads of fun watching then shiver and shrink up as they got out of the water. Around 5:00 we decided it was time to try and find a place for the night and get something to eat. We found a Red Lobster and feasted on lobster tail and shrimp, we’ve had much better (Cheri’s & The Pier at SXM) but we’ve also had worse. We went to a local Walmart and found some foam beach/float pads to lay on the rocks. Got a room at a Travel Lodge and settled down for the night. Got up early and had breakfast then headed back to Hippie Hollow around 10am. One of the first there, so we picked out what we thought was a good spot. As the locals started filtering in, we realized it was the spot. They were all settling down around us and we were instantly included in their group. We exchange stories all around. There was even a guy with a guitar that kept us entertained with funny songs. It was clear but mostly cloudy and 82 degrees, but we still manage to add to our tan. Around 3pm we decided we had better pack our stuff and make the three-hour drive home. We had a great weekend and found great place to get away for the weekend. Might even come down for just a day if we get up early enough, but would probably end up getting a room and come back the next day.

Live every day like its your last. No one knows if we'll live to see tommorrow come.
