Baard is correct ... 11 public Moorings recently added. I confirmed this personally during my trip of last month. Details here ... https://www.bvimariner.com/anchorages/other-anchorages/guana-island-white-bay/Orange moorings at Northern side of Bay are private. At least one of the public mooring balls was labelled "Do not use in high winds or waves, 35' max.” (per comment at above link). The ball we used did not have such warning. Fee was collected by Guana Island Resort. Beautiful, quiet anchorage when conditions are appropriate. Thanks - Mark (S/V Orion)

I've taken a mooring ball there on a couple of trips. And you are correct that they don't want you on the island. It's still a beautiful beach worth a stop for peace and quite.
Last time we were there in October on our boat (monohull) conditions were fine when we pulled in but by early evening it was getting a bit rolly. Since we were the only boat in the mooring field we tied up both bow and stern to two different mooring balls that were aligned with the waves and presto - problem solved.
Life's short - sail more!
