Hi all, we're heading down December 9. Just wondering how AT&Ts cell service is, both on St Thomas and St John?

It's generally very good. We sail all around these two islands and have had great service in the past. Not sure what it will be like Post-Irma.

It seems about half the cell towers are back in service online - since they require electricity it will be a while until they are all powered up - when everything is up and operating ATT cell coverage is generally quite good around the STT/STJ waters Dec. 9 may be optimistic for full operational status.

As of yesterday, no power to the St. John Bordeaux Mountain tower. People are driving to Cruz Bay to make calls. We had dinner with a Coral Bay friend last night and he mentioned that work to run the feeder from Cruz Bay to Coral Bay is going faster than expected. But, you should not count on service on the south shore of St. John until you hear reports of power in Coral Bay.
Cheers, RickG
